Equinox will be a safe, worry-free environment with main activities held outdoors and vaccinations required for everyone attending or working the event.
Equinox is a unique celebration to raise funds and awareness to end homelessness in Baltimore. This new, outdoor event will be at the Baltimore Museum of Industry, a beautiful, waterfront location in Baltimore's harbor. Equinox will feature a Chesapeake-inspired menu, beer, wine and spirits, creative lighting, silent and live auctions, and lively and fun music. Funds raised will go directly to supporting shelter and housing programs of St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore. Charm City's supergroup, Reverend Smackmaster & The Congregation of Funk, will provide a unique blend of Motown, blues and funky hits from the 60s, 70s, all the way to today! They'll be bringing the noise, the vibe and the dance party to Equinox!
Location: The Baltimore Museum of Industry - 1415 Key Highway Baltimore, MD
Date: Friday, September 24, 2021
Time: 7:00PM – 11:00PM
The name Equinox is drawn from the twice a year astronomical event when daytime and nighttime are of equal duration all over the world. Historically, the Fall Equinox was a time for harvest celebrations that united communities and involved people coming together to share the bounty from their fields. In that spirit, the Equinox event is a celebration of the ideals of kindness, sharing, and equal opportunity for all, symbolized through light.
While COVID-19 is still not fully behind us, amazing breakthroughs in vaccine technology has allowed every adult to now have access to safe vaccines. With many in our community vaccinated against COVID-19, and the number of vaccinated adults growing every day, we believe that by September 2021 the Baltimore community will be more than ready to enjoy a safe, outdoor event—especially after 18 months of social restrictions!
To ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone, we are taking some precautionary measures for this year’s event:
❖ The main event activities will be outdoors. The Baltimore Museum of Industry features an outdoor pavilion, and we will be adding additional tented areas.
❖ Masks will be required when attendees are in the Baltimore Museum of Industry indoor spaces only.
❖ Pre-registration will be required for all attendees that will include vaccination verification.
❖ Those working the event, including SVDP staff, venue and catering employees, band members, photographers, and valet parking attendants will be vaccinated.
❖ Baltimore City requirements for reduced venue capacity will be observed if applicable.
We believe these measures are important safeguards that will allow us to hold an amazing, worry-free event for our guests.
